Bass Coast Shire Council Community Grants have awarded $50,463 to community groups and organisations in the second round of the grants program this year.

Mayor, Cr Neil Rankine, said Council approved 30 grants at the September Council Meeting, with a wide range of projects awarded funds.

“There were nine projects awarded funds in the area of arts, culture and heritage, followed by four projects each in the areas of sports and recreation, health and wellbing, and seniors,” Cr Rankine said.

“This is another great result for both our grants program and our community groups and organisations, many of whom are run by dedicated volunteers.”

A list of all successful projects is available on Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/grants.

Council’s third round of Community Grants for 2014/15 is open from Thursday, 9 October to Wednesday 22 October 2014.

This round offers only the General Community Grant which provides grants up to $1,000 for equipment or $2,500 for other projects.

“I encourage groups that have not applied for a Community Grant before to consider whether they are eligible and discuss their grant idea with Council’s Grants Officer,” Cr Rankine said.

“There is also assistance available to those who need help with filling out an on-line application form.”
