Bass Coast,

A Maze’N Things crowned Bass Coast’s best business

Bass Coast’s 2015 Business of the Year was awarded to A Maze’N Things from Phillip Island at the Bass Coast Business Awards Presentation Dinner on Friday night.

The business also took home the Business Excellence 6+ Employees Award.

Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Kimberley Brown, said the judges were impressed with A Maze’N Things comprehensive marketing strategy and plan, commitment to professional development for staff, extensive product research and development and commitment to continuous improvement within the business.

Sargeants Conveyancing Bass Coast was also named the 2015 Bass Coast People's Choice Business of the Year, as well as the People’s Choice Award for Professional Services for the fifth year running.

“I’d like to congratulate A Maze’N Things and Sargeants Conveyancing Bass Coast, as well as all of our award winners and finalists,” Cr Brown said.

“It’s fantastic to see interest growing in the awards each year, with a significant 30 per cent increase in entries compared to previous years.

“Feedback we’ve had from businesses is that entering the awards is a rewarding experience and gives them the opportunity to review their business and help make decisions about their goals and direction for the future.”

The Awards Presentation Dinner held at RACV Inverloch Resort was attended by 175 representatives from a wide range of Bass Coast businesses – another significant increase on previous years.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Paul Buckley, congratulated not only the winners, but all businesses that entered the awards this year.

Mr Buckley said it was great to see businesses from across the whole Shire entering the awards and being acknowledged at the Presentation Dinner.

“Our local businesses are delivering fantastic services and building a reputation across Victoria, which is great for our economy, for visitors and for residents,” Mr Buckley said.

“The growing popularity of the awards reflects the strength of our local business community.

“We know from past awards that there is an economic benefit that can be gained from entering.”

The Council was represented at the Presentation Dinner by Cr Brown, Deputy Mayor Cr Jordan Crugnale and Cr Bradley Drew, with Member for Bass, Brian Paynter MP, also in attendance.
