Bit of love for Cowes track

Bass Coast Shire Council has started works to renew the track surface along sections of the Lovers Walk pathway on the Cowes Foreshore.

Last year, Council installed compacted gravel along 225 metres of the pathway. This year, works will be undertaken along a further 175 metres.

Following this work, a new gravel surface will have been laid along the entire 400 metre length of the pathway between Erehwon Point and Dunsmore Road.

Thompson Ward Councillor, Andrew Phillips, said Lovers Walk is an iconic walkway that has been valued by pedestrians dating back many years.

“I’m very pleased that the remainder of the track will be resurfaced so our community and visitors alike can walk or cycle along the path for many more years to come,” Cr Phillips said.

Works on the path will be undertaken over the coming weeks. Council will ensure that some pedestrian access is available along the pathway whilst these works are underway.
