Entries are now open for the 2013 SuperPages Bass Coast Business Awards!

Bass Coast Shire Council is again proudly partnering with SuperPages to run the prestigious Business Awards.

Following on from the success of last year, the Awards will run in two parts. A People’s Choice section will run together with the Business Awards, so businesses and their customers can be involved.

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Clare Le Serve, said the Awards are one of the most popular annual events for our local business community.

“The SuperPages Bass Coast Business Awards are a way to raise the profile of local businesses and highlight the benefits these businesses bring to the Shire,” Cr Le Serve said.

“The People’s Choice section is a fantastic opportunity for the community to nominate their favourite businesses.  When someone from the community nominates a business for a People’s Choice Award, they also become eligible to win a $250 shopping voucher.

“There are also some real economic and promotional benefits for businesses that get involved,” Cr Le Serve said.

“I encourage everyone to support the 2013 Awards and again make the Awards night a highlight of the year.”

Entries

All businesses in Bass Coast, registered to receive business mail with Australia Post, will receive a Business Award kit in the mail. The kit will include entrant’s information, an entry form for the Business Awards as well as a nomination form for the People’s Choice Awards.

Entry forms are also available online at basscoast.vic.gov.au and from Bass Coast Shire Council Customer Service Centres.  Business Award entries close on 19 July 2013.

There are six categories in the Business Awards:

Business Excellence 0-5 employees - sponsored by Chisholm
Business Excellence 6 or more employees - sponsored by SP AusNet
Marketing and Promotion - sponsored by Destination Phillip Island
New Business - sponsored by the Victorian Government through Small Business Victoria
Environment and Sustainability - sponsored by Westernport Water
Good Access is Good Business - sponsored by Rural Access

The overall winner – the 2013 SuperPages Bass Coast Business of the Year - will be selected from the winners of these categories

People’s Choice

Council is asking members of the community to vote for any business operating in Bass Coast that they believe provides exceptional service.

“We all know when we experience excellent customer service and now is the time to show your support for your favourite local businesses and nominate them in the People’s Choice Award,” said Cr Le Serve.

“Businesses aren’t able to nominate themselves in this section, but they should encourage their customers to put in a nomination!”

Nomination forms are available online at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au . Entries are limited to one per person, per business. People's Choice voting closes on 9 August 2013.

Gala Award Presentation

The excitement of the Business Awards culminates at a Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday, 23 August 2013 at RACV Inverloch Resort, Inverloch. The evening is open to all businesses, not just those that have been nominated, and any business can book a table for their staff and/or friends.

Last year’s event was very popular, so book early to avoid missing out. For bookings, please contact Bass Coast Shire Council’s Business Development Officer, Emilie Cutler, on 1300 BCOAST (226 278), email e.cutler@basscoast.vic.gov.au or book and pay online at www.visitbasscoast.com/tours.asp.
