Round 4 of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Community Grants is the final round of funding for the 2014/15 financial year.

In Round 4, eligible not-for-profit groups can apply for funds up to $1,000 for equipment or $2,500 for other projects, under the General Community Grant category.

Applications are open from 4 February to 18 February 2015, with successful applicants being notified from 17 April. Projects must be completed and acquitted by 30 June 2015.

Council’s General Manager Healthy Communities, David Elder, said community groups who had thought about applying for a grant, but had not yet done so, should reconsider for the final round.

“The equipment grants are a popular category and useful for eligible community groups, organisations, schools and sporting clubs to purchase items such as storage, seating, catering, sporting and educational equipment,” Mr Elder said.

“However I ask all applicants to keep in mind that funds from Round 4 will be available to successful applicants in late-April and projects must be completed before 30 June 2015, so there is only a couple of months to complete and acquit a project.

“Potential applicants are advised to attend an information session, especially if this is the first time a group has made a Community Grant application.”

No bookings are required for the information sessions being held on Wednesday, 4 February from 5.00pm to 6.00pm at the Grantville Transaction Centre, and on Thursday, 5 February from 4.00pm to 5.00pm at the Inverloch Community Hub.

Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of Community Grants 2014/15 have awarded 106 grants to a value of $190,925.00.
