Bass Coast,

Countdown To Creative Gippsland

Gippsland Arts Festival 2014 is almost upon us!

Across Bass Coast Shire we have 33 participants showcasing exhibitions and workshops for ‘all of Gippsland – all of May’.

Like all previous festivals, the month highlights exhibitions, events, music, performances, workshops and installations.

A number of the exhibitions are holding openings with some incredible art on display.

On Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May, the Goldsmiths Gallery in Bridgeview Arcade, San Remo will showcase a spectacular collection of breathtaking jewellery by Australian artists, goldsmiths and jewellers.

The following Sunday, 11 May, the opening of Weird and Wonderful at Saraghi Art Space (at rear of Lugano Café) will be held from 2.30pm until 5.00pm.

For a full listing of registered exhibitions and gatescapes, visit, where you can also vote for your favourite gatescape. Gippsland Arts Festival brochures are also available at all Bass Coast Visitor Information Centres, art studios and key tourist destinations in the area.

The Bass Coast region is showcasing art for the month of May and we hope you can get out there and enjoy what it has to offer.

To make visiting exhibitions across the Shire easy for all, two bus tours will be held. The first tour on Saturday, 3 May will visit exhibitions in Wonthaggi and Inverloch, while the second tour on Saturday, 10 May will visit exhibitions in Phillip Island, San Remo and Anderson.
