Wonthagggi+Recreation+Reserve

Following lengthily consideration and consultation, the draft Master Plan for the Wonthaggi Recreation reserve is complete and open for feedback.

Bass Coast Shire Council encourages all who are involved with local recreation activities to have a look at the draft Plan and provide any feedback or ideas.

You can view the Plan and provide comment by attending the community meeting on Wednesday, 31 May at 7.00pm, at the Wonthaggi Power Football Netball Club social rooms. Alternatively, you can contact the Recreation and Culture Team on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5672 1122, or download the Plan and complete the online feedback form accessible here: www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/WonthaggiRec

Led by Richard Simon of Simon Leisure, developing the draft Master Plan involved fourteen community groups and broader community consultation. Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Pamela Rothfield, explains the Master Plan will provide a clear direction for the future of the reserve.

“The Plan aims to find a balance between considering and respecting the reserve’s rich sporting history, and providing facilities which encourage new activities and innovative options for shared spaces,” Cr Rothfield said.

The draft Master Plan is on exhibition with feedback welcome until Friday, 2 June 2017. All feedback will be considered before the plan is presented to Council in August 2017.
