Tickets are now available for a spectacular Gala Dinner, which is being held on Saturday, 10 November as the grand finale to Phillip Island’s 150th year celebrations.

An event not to be missed, hundreds of community members are expected to come together to celebrate this exciting milestone. The dinner will be held at the Expo Pavilion at the Grand Prix Circuit, which in itself holds such historical significance for Phillip Island.

Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Pamela Rothfield said the event is the finale to what has been a very special year.

“This may be the last milestone of Phillip Island to be celebrated in my lifetime, however, I’m certain it will be remembered as an example of unity, cohesion and celebration for many years to come,” Cr Rothfield said.

“We hope that in 50, 100 or even 150 years, people will look back on this celebration as an important moment in the history of Phillip Island.”

The Gala Dinner is set to be prestigious event and guests are being encouraged to dress in historical costume or elegant attire.

Cr Rothfield explained that the success of the Gala Dinner relies solely on the generosity and support of its corporate sponsors and the local community.

She said several generous sponsors have come on board in order to keep the ticket price at an accessible level for everyone in the community.

“So far, Bass Coast Shire Council, Rotary Club of Phillip Island and San Remo, ACE Contractor Group, the Phillip Island RSL and Westernport Water have committed funding for the evening and the Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit is contributing significant donations in-kind,” she said.

“The event would not have been possible without the support of these businesses and community groups.”

Tickets to the event are $120, which include a three course dinner, refreshments and entertainment. Tickets can be purchased from phillipisland150galadinner.eventbrite.com.au or at the Cowes Cultural Centre on Thompson Avenue, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
