Bass Coast,

Gippsland Business Connect is now live

Local businesses now have access to a new online network designed to help them find and gain more work locally, called Gippsland Business Connect.

Bass Coast Shire Council Mayor, Cr Pamela Rothfield, explained that Gippsland Business Connect, an initiative of Council and Latrobe Valley Authority, is all about helping our local business community grow.

“Our region is full of amazing businesses, both large and small, but too often people don't know they're there,” Cr Rothfield said.

“Becoming involved is free and easy, and I encourage anyone who is in business or works for a local business, to jump online and register at”

Gippsland Business Connect will allow registered users to search or list events via an online calendar, receive and send project notifications and quotes to local suppliers, ask for local supplier recommendations or letters of introduction, and search for businesses based on locality or industry.

There will be a free information session on Thursday, 5 July from 9.30am to 11.00am in the Old Post Office, on the corner of Watt Street and McBride Avenue in Wonthaggi, which businesses are invited to attend to find out more.

“Gippsland Business Connect is a free tool, funded by Council, so there's nothing to lose by getting involved. Already nearly 600 local business people have jumped on board which is fantastic,” Cr Rothfield said.

An initiative of Growing Regional Opportunities for Work Gippsland and the Latrobe Valley Authority, Gippsland Business Connect is a partnership between Bass Coast Shire Council, Baw Baw Shire Council, East Gippsland Shire Council, Latrobe City Council, South Gippsland Shire Council and Wellington Shire Council.
