Green Waste Site For Phillip Island

Phillip Island residents and visitors will soon be able to dispose of green waste at the Cowes Public Place Recycling Bank facility on Dunsmore Road.

After investigating a number of options regarding green waste disposal on Phillip Island, the Recycling Bank has been identified as a suitable site for a green waste drop off facility.

An operational plan has been developed for the site which is pending approval from stakeholders.

The site will be suitable for the drop off domestic size loads only. Domestic loads include any size up to a caged, tandem trailer load. Large commercial loads will still be required to go to the Grantville landfill.

Bass Coast Shire Council aims to have the facility open prior to commencement of the amnesty period, subject to final approvals being gained.

Once open, no mulching will be done on-site, with all green waste to be transferred to Grantville.

More details will be available once approvals have been completed.
