Bass Coast,

Have Your Say on Waste

Bass Coast Shire Council is seeking community input in the development of the Waste Management Strategy 2015-2025.

Mayor, Cr Kimberley Brown, said there are a number of community consultation sessions being held so people can participate in developing the strategy by identifying key waste management issues they feel most strongly about.

“Identifying and understanding these key issues ensures we take into account the diverse opinions, innovative ideas and wealth of life experience our community has,” Cr Brown said.

“The consultation sessions will provide people with numerous opportunities to provide input.

“You can make an appointment to discuss waste issues with a consultant one-on-one, or you can drop in and have an informal chat about any ideas and issues you would like to discuss.”

ERM Australia will also do a presentation covering a number of options for waste services in the future, providing audiences with an insight into issues, policies and drivers that guide how waste services are provided locally, statewide and nationally.

“There will also be a chance for you to ask questions afterwards,” Cr Brown said.
