Healthy Living Comes To Surf Beach

It’s Surf Beach’s turn to host the next Living Healthy Bass Coast Roadshow on Wednesday, 28 August from 11.00am to 1.00pm.

Held at Surf Beach General Store, the Roadshow will feature a range of activities and information to help you lead a healthier lifestyle.

Brad from the Big Wave Café in Newhaven will be showing you how to whip up two tasty seasonal dishes, and you’ll be able to take home recipe cards and ideas on cooking with fresh produce.

There’ll be plenty of information on local exercise programs, as well as plenty of produce packs and fun give-aways Bass Coast Community Health will also be onsite providing free health checks. Glenice and Sherrie from the Surf Beach General Store said they’re looking forward to hosting the Roadshow.

“We’re excited to welcome people to the event. We think this is a great new, innovative way to promote healthy living, fresh produce and physical activity,” Glenice said.

“Having just revamped our store, we’re also looking forward to hosting an event and having people come in and see the improvements.”

The first two Roadshows were held in Ventnor and Dalyston, with two more to be held in Surf Beach and Cape Paterson.

Community Strengthening Manager, Antoinette Mitchell encouraged everyone to attend one of the four events

“The Roadshows are a travelling community kitchen encouraging the community to adopt and maintain a healthy lifestyle,” Ms Mitchell said.

“They’re guaranteed to be a lot of fun, with plenty of great ideas you can take home and try yourself.”

The Roadshows will be held from 11.00am to 1.00pm on:

  • Wednesday, 28 August, Surf Beach General Store
  • Tuesday, 3 September, Cape Paterson Sea Salt Cafe
