Bass Coast,

Leadership Skills For Young People

Have you got ideas that you need help putting into action? Would you like to learn leadership and public speaking skills?

Supported by the Bass Coast Shire Council, facilitator Kate Wilde from ‘The Workshop’ will be delivering free training for local young people.

The day-long workshop will cover the essentials of leadership such as team work, communication and project planning.

Kate is a highly respected provider of programs and an engaging facilitator of youth and community forums.

Kate has a background in education, counseling, and youth development and over 20 years experience working with young people, their families and communities.

The Youth Advocacy Group, Future Leaders Influencing our Community (FLIC), will be working with Kate to design the program for the workshop.

“This workshop is to give us and other young people the skills to be more vocal and active in our community,” FLIC member, Jess Paulson, said.

“It is not just for existing leaders, but also for people who have ideas to improve opportunities for young people or want to learn skills to gain confidence in working with others.”

Young people aged 12 to 25 can register to attend the workshop at the Wonthaggi Town Hall on Saturday, 23 August.

This training is being delivered as part of a Victorian Government Youth Inclusion Grant.

To register to attend, email with your name, age and phone number by 12 August 2014.
