Proud new citizens take oath
Bass Coast Shire Council welcomed 24 new citizens at a Citizenship Ceremony held on 24 November.
The new citizens came from the countries of Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Venezuela, Thailand, Philippines, United Kingdom, Peru, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, India, Ireland, Cambodia, Nepal, New Zealand and China.
They now reside in the Bass Coast areas of Wonthaggi, Cowes, Sunderland Bay, Inverloch, Dalyston, Ryanston, Bass and South Dudley.
Bass Coast Deputy Mayor, Cr Bradley Drew, presided over the ceremony, with Council’s CEO, Paul Buckley PSM, as MC.
Bass Coast Citizen of the Year 2015, Jeff Nottle, was also a special guest speaker on the night.
