Time is running out to take part in Bass Coast Shire Council’s consultation phase of the Sports and Active Recreation Needs Assessment.

This project is helping to understand the needs of local sporting clubs, groups and residents.

Bass Coast Mayor, Cr Kimberley Brown, said the study will provide a clear understanding of future sport and recreation needs across Bass Coast and assist with future developments and funding applications.

“To help inform this plan we want to know what the Bass Coast community is up to in their recreation time, no matter what the sport or activity is,” Cr Brown said.

“If you participate in traditional sports like cricket and netball, or emerging activities like windsurfing or Parkrun, we would love to hear from you.

“This study is looking to capture not just the organised sport in the Shire, but the active recreation activities people enjoy.”

Cr Brown said Council has already spoken to community members at markets in Grantville and Inverloch and will be at the Churchill Island market on Saturday, 27 June.

“Keep an eye out for Council’s stall at the market, or if you can’t make it, there’s also a short, online survey you can complete at your leisure,” Cr Brown said.

The survey can be found at basscoast.vic.gov.au/SARNA, and closes on Saturday, 27 June.
