Resurfacing for Inverloch and Wonthaggi Skate Parks

Bass+Coast+will+be+resurfacing+Skate+Park+facilities

Works on the Inverloch and Wonthaggi Skate Parks are underway as part of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Building and Open Space Renewal Program. These works also align with Council’s recently adopted Skate Strategy, which will deliver a range of inclusive and safe skate spaces across the Shire.

The surface renewal works funded by Council will repair and refurbish the Wonthaggi and Inverloch Skate Parks to improve the facilities and increase their lifespan.

The works will be undertaken by Skatecon Pty Ltd on behalf of Council, and the total project value is $110,000.

Works at the Inverloch skate park commenced on Monday, 16 April 2018 and are due for completion in early May. The Inverloch works include resurfacing and concrete repairs, and additional drainage.

The Wonthaggi works will begin following the completion of the Inverloch Skate Park, in mid May, with completion set for early June 2018. The Wonthaggi works will include resurfacing and concrete repairs.

The skate parks will be closed during these periods and the use of grinding machinery will create dust and noise. Council appreciates that these works may present an inconvenience and thank the community for their patience.

For more information or assistance during these works, please contact Bass Coast Shire Council's Project Officer or Coordinator Recreation and Culture on I300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211 or email basscoast@basscoast.vic.gov.au
