Second Round Of Community Grants Open Soon

Bass Coast Shire Council’s second round of Community Grants will open on Monday, 7 July and close on Monday, 28 July, giving community groups and organisations three weeks to apply.

This round will again offer three funding categories with funds available for small grants.

  • General Community Grant – for grants up to $1,000 for equipment or $2,500 for other projects
  • Community Event Grant – for grants up to $5,000
  • Minor Capital Works Grant – for grants up to $5,000

Funds from the second round will be awarded to successful applicants from October.

Council’s Acting Community and Ecnomic Development Director, Antoinette Mitchell, encouraged all applicants to read the online Community Grant Information Kit before they begin an application.

“The Kit helps applicants know what they need to plan their projects and how to prepare for an application before they begin the process,” Ms Mitchell said.

“For example, applicants intending to submit a Minor Capital Works application must supply the written permission for their project from the land owner or manager.

“If their project is intended to be on property owned or managed by Council, the applicant must discuss their application with the Council before they submit their application.”

Grant applications can only be made using the online application form available from Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au.

Applications must be submitted completed and with necessary supporting documentation in order to be assessed.
