Thanking Our Sponsors
Behind the incredible fundraising achievements of Bass Coast Shire Council’s Mayoral Charity Balls over the past nine years there have been a number of dedicated sponsors.
Last Friday night, Council and the Bass Coast Community Foundation took the opportunity to acknowledge these businesses and organisations at the ‘Thanking Our Sponsors’ cocktail event held at Silverwater Resort.
With over 60 guests attending the event, Council and the BCCF sincerely thanked their sponsors for their continued contribution.
Mayor, Cr Clare Le Serve, described the generosity shown by sponsors over almost a decade as “overwhelming”.
“The Mayoral Charity Ball has raised over $120,000 in support of the Bass Coast Community Foundation, which is a wonderful achievement and something to be proud of,” Cr Le Serve said.
“Tonight gives both the Council and the Foundation the opportunity to sincerely thank and acknowledge our Mayoral Charity Ball sponsors and to recognise your outstanding fundraising achievements.
“Our sponsors have been committed and worked closely with us on achieving a community event that we can all be proud of.”
Cr Le Serve also acknowledged volunteers who had also donated their time to the many Charity Balls.
“Hundreds of volunteer hours went in to theming the Ball each year and I am proud to say that over 60 Council staff have volunteered their time to help decorate the hall, serve food and assist with cleaning up after the event,” Cr Le Serve said.
“This is a massive commitment from our staff and I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank them for their time and contribution.”
BCCF Deputy Chair, Martin Keogh, said the Charity Balls, which raised important funds for local projects, wouldn’t have been possible without the support of sponsors.
“The Bass Coast Community Foundation is indebted to the sponsors of the Mayoral Charity Ball for their generosity and kindness. The contributions we have received from the Mayoral Charity Ball initiative have enabled us to fund many community organisations within the Bass Coast Shire to undertake work that is both positive and necessary,” Mr Keogh said.
“The Council has been a great supporter of the Bass Coast Community Foundation over the years and we appreciate the opportunity to directly thank all of those who have made the ball possible.
“The 11-year partnership between the foundation, Council and the sponsors is highly valued and it is something that we look forward to maintaining as we work together to make a difference within our Shire.”
