The Great Gippsland Gatescape

The Great Gippsland Gatescape, Gippsland Arts Festival 2013 is about to launch and this year offers two streams of creativity for artists in the Bass Coast Region.

This is the fifth year of a Creative Gippsland festival for all of May and all of Gippsland.  It gives creative spirits a chance to showcase their talents in the public arena with promotion from the Creative Gippsland network.  This year the theme is “S p a c e” and the possibilities are endless – head space, my space, outer space, inner space, crazy space, serene space….

The feature event is The Great Gippsland Gatescape and everyone is invited to get involved and be in the running for some super prizes!  Coordinator for the Bass Coast region Gatescape project is local arts identity, Janice Orchard, who will encourage, advise and support all who wish to enter the competition.

“Make your garden gate, farm gate, school gate, yard gate, in fact any gate, your blank canvas. Make it stand out from the crowd with your creative ideas and ingenuity,” says Janice.

“You may want to partner with a community group. You could also partner with a winery, restaurant, accommodation, or other arts event to put together a deal that means our visitors just have to stay longer to enjoy the Bass Coast region!”

Your creations will be promoted on the Creative Gippsland and Council websites.  They will also be included in a brochure for the events and exhibitions taking place during the month of May as part of The Great Gippsland Gatescape, Gippsland Arts Festival 2013 “S p a c e”.
