Tour Sustainable Homes In Final Workshop

Bass Coast Shire Council and Bass Coast Landcare’s Future Homes Program is coming to a close, with a final workshop to be held on Saturday, 15 November.

The free ‘Sustainable Homes Tour Day’ will include visiting homes and businesses around Wonthaggi and Inverloch to showcase sustainable homes in the region.

Meeting at the Wonthaggi Council Chambers in Ballieu Street Wonthaggi, this day will be a self drive tour to visit four properties from 10.00am until 3.00pm, with a free lunch included.

This is a chance to get a real-life look inside houses that have been designed, built or fitted out with sustainability in mind, as well as the opportunity to talk to owners, receiving unbiased advice.

You will be able to ask the home or business owners first hand what has worked for them and which items gave them the biggest ‘bang for their buck’.

The Future Homes Program of workshops held across Bass Coast Shire in 2014 is designed to inform and inspire you to implement sustainable actions at home.

This can save you money and increase the resillience of your home against impacts of climate change.

Places are limites and RSVPs are essential, so please contact Diana Whittington on 1300 BCOAST (226 278) or (03) 5671 2211 to confirm your booking.

Information on the homes we will be visiting will be available to those who register for this workshop.

More information on the program can also be found on Council’s website at www.basscoast.vic.gov.au/futurehomes.
